Myself

About Me

I’m Rylee Piercefield, a passionate advocate for justice, compassion, and transformation. After experiencing the failures of our legal and correctional systems firsthand, I made it my life’s mission to stand up for those without a voice — the wrongfully convicted, the forgotten youth, and communities left behind after disaster.

During my time in prison, I studied law, mentored others, and envisioned ways I could make a lasting difference. That vision led to the creation of several nonprofit organizations that now serve real people in real need across the Midwest and beyond.

Today, I run multiple initiatives focused on:

  • Justice and Legal Reform (The Auston Stewart Foundation)
  • Disaster Preparedness and Community Safety (GRN Preparedness, Inc.)
  • Faith-Based Outreach and Youth Empowerment (Second Chance Ministries, Inc.)

I believe in second chances, the power of community, and the courage it takes to rebuild — whether that’s a life, a city, or a broken system.

Quick Facts

  • Based in Evansville, Indiana
  • Associate Degree in General Studies (earned while incarcerated)
  • Founder of multiple 501(c)(3) nonprofits
  • Legal self-advocate currently challenging Kentucky's supervision laws
  • Passionate about outreach, mentorship, and creating safe spaces for youth and families

My Why

Behind every organization I build is a story ― sometimes painful, but always personal. I know what it means to be misunderstood, to be seen only by your past, and want more than anything to make it right. These nonprofits are my way of helping others do just that.
